Lodge now or you may lose your Family Tax Benefit!
If you received Family Tax Benefit (FTB) in the 2017-2018 income year, and you have not filed your 2018 tax return, you may have to pay back any FTB you received in the 2019 year.
If you received FTB during the 2017-18 financial year, you may still need to confirm your family’s income details. This can be done by lodging your tax return. Your partner will also need to do the same.
The Department of Human Services confirms your family’s income details so they can balance the payments you have received. However, if you do not confirm your income by completing tax return by June 30th 2019, you may miss out on top up payments or supplements.
You may also have to pay back any FTB you received in 2017-2018 and your future fortnightly payments may stop.
If you have not, or are unsure if you have lodged your 2018 tax return, contact our office today to book an appointment to have your tax return completed before June 30th.
